Our Advocacy<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

CDDC is on the front lines doing high impact social justice work.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Due in large part to systemic barriers and injustices, our guests face substantial social disparities that involve co-occurring behavioral health disabilities, substance use disorders, transition from incarceration, lack of access to education, and generational poverty often presenting in the form of chronic homelessness.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Our work intervenes in social systems created to oppress and further ostracize people already situated on the margins of life.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The holistic approach to our work improves our entire community by\u00a0 educating and informing more privileged individuals about poverty to bridge the divide between those who are housed and unhoused.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

CDDC employs healing-centered engagement, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care practices in our work every single day and are deeply invested in providing services that are always equitable and just.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Our diverse Board, staff, and volunteer supporters show our commitment to inclusion and the centering of people who are most marginalized in our community, like individuals with physical or mental health disabilities, people of color, those on an addiction\/recovery journey, and people who are gender diverse.<\/span><\/p>

The composition of folks who work and volunteer at CDDC directly reflects the diverse community we aim to serve.<\/span><\/p>

Our guests are key drivers of our services.<\/b><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

As a grassroots organization that supports many clients with disabilities, we ascribe to the disability rights ethos \u201cnothing about us without us.\u201d We collaborate with guests to empower them and increase their self-advocacy, and as we do, their collaboration helps shape CDDC in remarkable ways.<\/span><\/p>

Our Mission<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

\u00a0<\/p>

The Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center (CDDC) is a 501(c)(3) organization, and a<\/span><\/span>\u00a0vital, daytime resource and navigation hub in the Corvallis, OR area serving individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty. <\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Our goal is to reduce the social exclusion, stigma, and isolation that so often comes with being poor.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Beyond meeting<\/span>\u00a0basic needs, our mission is to provide dignified assistance and advocacy, offer opportunities for building community and social networks, and support individuals\u2019 welfare and rehabilitation across emergency, transitional, and ongoing life circumstances.<\/span><\/p>

We are structured around a community-first model that believes every person, regardless of identity or status, deserves to be treated with care and dignity\u2014while given space to share their voice, perspective, and experience. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our History<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

We are proud of our long history of serving the tri-county (Benton, Linn and Lincoln) area.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Originally, CDDC was a peer-run center known as The Circle of Hope, established to provide socialization for people with psychiatric disabilities.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Over time we evolved to serve those most in need, including people who are chronically marginalized due to poverty, homelessness, mental health disabilities, and substance use disorders.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Today, we continue to expand on our legacy of providing high quality, culturally sensitive services that promote inclusion, community-building, activism, and wellness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
