Dear CDDC Friends,

The sun is beaming on Corvallis Daytime Drop-In Center as we write with exciting news about exponential growth at our current 4th Street location. The Center’s solid foundation has been built on a deep commitment to low-barrier, socially just services that enable wellness, humanity, and equity for people impacted by poverty.

All the support we offer CDDC guests is a direct result of work by so many people and partnerships in our community. Thank YOU for being such an integral part of our growing CDDC family!

Since we received funding from the Oregon Community Foundation in 2020 to expand CDDC services, our grant streams, dedicated donorships, and overall income have all increased by 200%. Our staff has grown to 11 people, and we are lovingly supported by more than 50 amazing volunteers!

Simultaneously, our guests’ needs have become more acute, and the number of people we serve every day is growing significantly. Many of our guests are people of color, elders, LGBTQIA+ people, veterans, and people with disabilities. CDDC serves over 1000 unduplicated guests per year, including individuals who primarily engage our services via direct street outreach. Given the inclusivity and acceptance extended to all our guests and community partners, we remain confident that this growth will continue.

CDDC has until March 2025 to find a new home and transition from the current site. We are searching for a beautiful, permanent space to plant our deep roots. The new location will help us be more accessible for our guests, foster even stronger community resilience, and augment our impact as a national leader offering proven solutions to a U.S. poverty crisis.

We will continue to be a low-barrier, drop-in, one-stop-shop for individuals to access community connection, holistic health services, housing pathways, and basic needs navigation. The expanded Navigation and Resiliency Center will offer supportive, emergency respite shelter and ensure that all visitors have access to at least one hot meal every day.

Here are some encouraging words from a few of our beloved Board Members excited about championing this next step. Shawn proclaims, “CDDC was there for me during the darkest days of my life. I wouldn’t be here if CDDC wasn’t there for me. I want to give this opportunity to others going through trials in their lives.” Rick says, “the Drop-In Center [has] provided the outlet for me to provide loving service in a personally meaningful way.”

Mandy raves, “the Drop-In Center is a place where lines are intentionally blurred and there is no distinction between guests, staff and volunteers. CDDC is love in action, a place where everyone belongs.”

We are thrilled to share that we are in the process of updating our website, to ensure more inclusive accessibility to online visitors. The Center has also shifted to a new online donation platform that covers all processing fees for non-profits, which means CDDC now receives 100% of every online donation! In this season bursting with sunshine and renewal, we envision an audacious future where we continue this important work.
